Alleluia, by Kathy Long, Lehighton, PA
This quilt received first place in the Viewer's Choice contest.
This quilt is a butterfly theme, a powerful Christian image of change and resurrection. The white background reminds us of the purity of Jesus. The branch at the lower left blossoms into flowers that are transformed into tiny butterflies. As they float in the breeze they follow Christ, the large butterfly in the upper right.
We begin our lives simply, as on the branch. We are then swept by the Spirit into doing God's work, we become All Anew. Show God's love! Praise the Lord and sing alleluia-amen.
