  • Barbara O'Keefe, Alexandria, Va., has a long line of prayer shawls behind her. In her lifetime, she's knitted more than 100. "I've given them to speakers at our [synodical] women's gatherings, to people who are sick and to people celebrating happy occasions," O'Keefe said at the shawl display at Camp Dianoigo. "The pattern I use is a Trinity of stitches. Three stitches you knit; three stitches you purl. I tell people to use it in times of happiness and sadness." O'Keefe contributed some of these shawls, which will be distributed to ministries and communities in the Eastern Washington-Idaho Synod. EH
  • Ada Junge, Roswell, GA, and Mary Lou Fish, Marietta, GA, admire the crocheted edge on some of the prayer shawls in the exhibit area. Hundreds of shawls made by Women of the ELCA participants will be distributed to ministries and communities in the ELCA's Eastern Washington-Idaho Synod. EH
